Ed4Online is proud to announce that one of its employees, Marketing Specialist Angela Caban, has recently been published as part of a collection of short stories and narratives focusing on military family life entitled, Stories Around the Table: Laughter, Wisdom, and Strength in Military Life.
For her contribution to the publication, Angela, an Army National Guard wife and the 2013 New Jersey National Guard Spouse of the Year, authored a short piece entitled, What Strength Looks Like. In her narrative, Angela illustrates the prospect of a spouse facing deployment and the impact that it has on a marriage, ultimately showcasing the strength and courage that triumph fear to forge stronger bonds while a spouse is deployed.
To commemorate the launch of Stories Around the Table: Laughter, Wisdom, and Strength in Military Life, Angela attended the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) 2014 Annual Meeting and Exposition to participate in a book-signing event. Held every October in Washington, D.C., the AUSA Annual Meeting is the largest land power exposition and professional development forum in North America.
“I spent so many years secluded from the military community thinking I was not worthy of wearing the title of military spouse. It is painful to think that there could be others out there feeling the same way,” said Angela. “This is why I share my story of being an Army National Guard wife. We may have different experiences, but nonetheless, we are a family and a strong community filled with support and encouragement.”
Angela has a history of authorship and her writing has appeared in several publications and websites. She also contributed to the book, Faith Deployed… Again, published in 2011, which offers up encouragement for military spouses whose loved ones face multiple deployments or back-to-back tours.
Angela is also the founder of the Homefront United Network, a military family support network for all military families, especially National Guard and Reserve families. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Human Resources.
