“My primary concern when updating my website was my antiquated design,” says Dr. Jonathan Smith of Balance Chiropractic. “When Marc Apple of Forward Push showed me the design proposal, I wondered if it was too cutting edge, but I trusted his professional judgement and have been very happy with the results. I’ve gotten many compliments on the site and was not surprised to hear that they had won an award for their innovative design.”
An award-winning website doesn’t happen in a vacuum. At Forward Push, we believe that quality work only happens when we get hands on with the client. That way, we can truly understand what their branding and messaging goals are — and how to translate that into a final product that delivers that experience in digital form, all while meeting the latest web standards and using the latest technology.
It all starts with a pair of meetings. First, we have a strategy meeting. This is a top-level discussion to establish things like goals, limitations, previous marketing efforts, existing branding guidelines, etc. This paves the way for the second meeting, the more-focused creative brief meeting. During this meeting, the Forward Push team (project manager, web designer, copywriter) discusses the creative brief with the client (given to the client in advance to fill out). The creative brief meeting zeroes in on specifics that being the project to life and can range from discussing exact call-to-actions to desired visitor flow to page-by-page purpose and value proposition.
Following those meetings, the development process kicks off. This is an iterative process for both web development and copy, as both refine towards the final goal. The client is kept in the loop and provides drafts to review at specific milestones, with feedback incorporated into the final versions. When the polished version — a fully tested website with finished copy and mobile friendly capabilities — is finished, the site goes live.
Our role doesn’t end with a site launch. Forward Push works on retainer to oversee a localized SEO strategy: researching keywords and current results, generating content, and devising specific strategies for achieving higher local search engine rankings. This can involve a wide range of services, from pure keyword-driven content generation to various strategies touching on platforms such as social media and social proof.
The result is similar to what was achieved with Balance Chiropractic: a striking modern design that blends usability, branding, and compatibility across browsers and devices, all while creating a strong search engine footprint for maximum visibility. “For most of my potential new patients, my web site is their first impression of me,” says Dr. Smith. “Forward Push’s design communicates the professionalism and complexity of the services I offer in a way that is very clear and accessible to a visitor whether they are just taking a quick look or wanting to delve deeper. If that is cutting edge, I guess the rest of the web will just have to catch up.”
We are extremely proud of our work for Balance Chiropractic and humbled that it has garnered such prestigious accolades. At the same time, the most important aspect of this stems from what we can do for our customers. Balance Chiropractic’s website is a good demonstration of how we can bring together brand, functionality, and search engine presence for something that acts as the hub of a local business’s marketing strategy.
