San Diego’s very own KOOLWON was first heard on the un-released gem “No Style” from his affiliated group The Fut’se Clan (pronounced “Foo-Shush”). KOOLWON made several (dj) mixtape & radio show appearances throughout the 90’s such as the world renowned Phatt Blendz & Freestyles of 1996 and Blended Elements in 1999 released by DJ JFX of  the Brooklyn hip hop group X-Clan.

KOOLWON made an appearance live on-stage with legendary hip hop icon COMMON at a DEF JAM RECORDS Los Angeles event where he wowed the audience with an off the cuff freestyle.

He then appeared on the track “Set It Off” produced by “DJ Truly OdD” released in 1999 on the “Mental Music” EP produced by DJ JFX that was released exclusively in Japan..

In 2012, KOOLWON and DJ JFX released the single “You Ain’t A Gangsta” which was very well received on social media and the music tastemakers. He followed up with another smash hit titled “Gas” produced by San Diego’s The Cheez In Da Trap Productions. KOOLWON released two singles along with music videos titled “Smoke N Weed” and “The Mambo” , both featuring Big O’ Meezy (an affiliate of West Coast icon E-40). His newest single release title “GUCCI BAG” has the industry on their toes as the song garners thousands of viewers in the first couple hours. Make sure to keep an eye out.

KOOLWON is making his first onscreen acting debut in 2021 in the film by DJ JFX titled “Wheels Of Steel” and is performing on the film’s title track featuring the legendary Sadat X of Brand Nubian and J-Rocc of the world Famous Beat Junkies.

KOOLWON’s future plans include pursuing his acting career and continuing to release his monster hit songs with eye catching music videos representing for what he says:

“The people who love good music”.
