George Indest Featured In Article Regarding Changes To Medical License Application

Industry: Legal Services

Orlando attorney interviewed in Naples Daily News about removing past mental health and substance abuse issues from Florida medical licenses applications.

Orlando, FL (PRUnderground) March 26th, 2019

Attorney George F. Indest III, President and Managing Partner of The Health Law Firm, was recently quoted extensively in an article published in the Naples Daily News.

The article reported on the Florida Board of Medicine giving preliminary approval to eliminate questions about past mental health and substance abuse issues from applications for Florida medical licenses. Applicants would be asked only whether they currently have any condition that impairs them from safely practicing.

Mr. Indest is extensively quoted in the article for his years of experience defending doctors and nurses in Department of Health Investigations, Board of Medicine hearings, and those directed for evaluation by the Professional Resource Network (PRN).

Indest is quoting as having told the Naples Daily News: “Disclosure of past treatment has had a detrimental impact to physicians moving to Florida. In my opinion, despite having a physician shortage, Florida already has the reputation of being one of the hardest states from which to obtain a license.”
