Goodera and Zoom’s latest collaboration aims to drive micro-actions to positively impact the lives of Ukrainian refugees

Goodera and Zoom’s recently launched ‘Karma App’ lets individuals and teams support refugees and their caregivers cope with the Ukraine crisis. Potential volunteers can use the time between Zoom meetings to complete 10-minute ‘micro-actions’ in support of their chosen cause or nonprofit.

Goodera, the world’s largest virtual volunteering platform, has launched micro-actions supporting the Ukrainian refugee crisis. These 10-minute-long actions allow individuals and teams to volunteer their time between or during meetings on Zoom.

Housed on Goodera’s Zoom app, ‘Karma,’ the actions currently include writing messages of support for the caregivers of Ukrainian children, creating a digital wall of affirmative messages to boost volunteers’ morale, and raising funds for mental health services to help survivors.

The beneficiaries of these micro-actions are not just the refugees but also the volunteers helping them on the ground.

The UN estimates that close to 4.7 million Ukrainians have sought refuge in neighboring countries. Volunteers from several nonprofits work around the clock to help them find the care and rehabilitation they need. The Karma app aims to help these two groups mitigate some of their mental duress amid an active conflict zone. These micro-actions will also support Goodera’s more extensive #StandWithUkraine campaign in aid of Ukrainian refugees.

Abhishek Humbad, the CEO and founder of Goodera, said, “We cannot watch in silence as Ukrainians suffer through this conflict. We must also recognize the selfless efforts of the volunteers helping. Through the Karma app and minimal time requirements of its micro-actions, Goodera wants to make it easier for corporations to support those affected by this war. We hope these small actions will impact the lives of those we aim to help.”
