Goodera launched its global campaign in February for the black community, #EqualityKnowsNoBoundaries – 10K for Racial Equality, to bring together individuals, non-profit organizations, and corporations in celebrating the black community’s contributions.

Since the 1970s, Black History Month has celebrated the rich cultural heritage, triumphs, and hardships that are an unforgettable part of our country’s history. Goodera conducted virtual volunteering seminars and discussions with non-profit leaders and philanthropists who support the black community as part of the celebrations.

“Black History Month is crucial and very inspiring for the entire community. There was a time when black Americans didn’t have the opportunity to do many things like access education or start a family. So, it was difficult for us to lead an everyday life. So we must not forget our history. It informs us what goes on and the opportunities we have today.” says Ronesha Jackson – Executive Director of City Youth Now. “This celebration lets black Americans and people come together. We also get to show the value of black Americans in the United States, and Black History Month is a very vital month. We must have the space to discuss what has happened with black people in America and uplift our youth and young adults. We must discuss what has happened with black people in America and raise our youth and young adults to understand each other.”

The campaign #EqualityKnowsNoBoundaries – 10K for Racial Equality, enables employee volunteers from Goodera’s list of corporate clients to choose from its curated volunteering experiences, schedule a time that works for them and volunteer to make an impact.

To celebrate black history and achievements, Goodera partnered with two non-profits to:

  • Design 12 virtual volunteering opportunities for corporate volunteers: These experiences range from volunteers making digital career cards on the profiles of successful African-American individuals to creating fun and educational digital puzzles on topics of Black History.
  • Raise voices of the non-profits and their cause: Goodera had the chance to interact with many non-profits trying to highlight the issues of the black community. We had many virtual seminars, panel discussions, fundraising events, and more. The meetings are featured on Goodera’s platforms.

Goodera’s non-profit partners who work to uplift the African American community booked 80+ hours of overall volunteer participation as part of the campaign. Engaging 1500 corporate volunteers helped us raise funds for various non-profits, standing up for the black community in multiple countries.

“We deal with many disadvantaged youths as well as families. There is so much negativity related to the black community that it overshadows everything else. There are a lot of families and youth that are lost in the street. They don’t realize the value of education and how it can be beneficial.” says Tajudeena Jones, Executive Director of Totally Positive Productions. “The educational component of Black History Month is to let the masses know the impact that African Americans have made throughout the history of the United States and abroad, especially in low-income disadvantaged communities.”

After successfully implementing the campaign #EqualityKnowsNoBoundaries, Goodera has launched its plans to focus on International Women’s Day and the events of March.
