Dr. Stender and his team of dental associates and staff have one goal: to provide the best dentistry care in Pasadena, as they would provide to their own family. The clinic offers a comfortable and relaxing dental experience with state-of-the-art treatment facilities. 

Dr. Stender earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California in 1970. Following his graduation, he began his dental career by opening up his private practice and has been working since. He is also a self-described “continuing education junkie” and has completed thousands of hours advancing his dentistry knowledge. 

Dr. Stender has practiced comprehensive family-oriented in Pasadena since 1970. His extensive list of treatments includes root canal therapy, fitting with prosthetic devices such as dentures, oral surgery, cosmetic dentistry, reconstructive dentistry, and pain management. 

Working alongside Dr. Stender is Dr. Joyce Stein. Dr. Joyce Stein knew she wanted to be a dentist from a young age after volunteering as a Spanish translator at a non-profit dental clinic in San Fernando, MEND. 

She completed her Bachelor’s degree in BIology from the University of La Verne. After this, she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 2013. Dr. Stein furthered her dental education by completing a general practice residency in 2014 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, CT. 

The clinic is pleased to have an exceptional and experienced team of ten dental assistants and hygienists working with Dr. Stender and Dr. Joyce.

For those visiting H. Robert Stender DDS, Inc. and his team for the first time will have a comprehensive initial oral examination beginning with a review of dental and medical history, followed by visual examinations, periodontal probing, and diagnosis and treatment recommendations.

Dental patients are also offered advanced X-rays, including three-dimensional panoramic imaging for advanced diagnosis of the front and back teeth.
