Haltom Christian, Tarrant County’s Newest Christian School, Begins Enrollment for Inaugural Year

Haltom Christian School is devoted to elevating the character and the minds of students by developing critical thinkers and lifelong learners.  With a passion to provide exceptional biblical teaching and educational opportunities for students in grades Pre-K3 through second grade, HCS offers a unique educational model and other learning opportunities.

When the vision of a Christian school was purposed in the hearts of the administrators, the mission was clear—provide a Christ-centered education that enriches state standards and ensures that each student develops the skills necessary for critical thinking.  As a Christian school, the educational model is founded on biblical values, based on Colossians 1:10, “That you may walk worthy of the Lord fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.”  Knowing the importance of a quality education that elevates character, the school established a unique educational model that highlights interactive learning, relational philosophy, and family contributions.

Operating out of the facility of Calvary Chapel Fort Worth, Haltom Christian School adheres to the vision of CCFW. Made possible through the financial funding of Love Never Fails International, Haltom Christian School supports the core values of LNFI as they believe that “all children were created by God and possess great potential and that through encouragement, educational support, and love, they can each lead a successful and joyful life.”

One of the most important aspects of the educational model at Haltom Christian School is the belief that our relationship with Christ is of the utmost importance.  In addition, the relationship with students and parents is paramount.  That’s why Fridays are reserved as a homeschool day.  This allows families to contribute to their child’s curriculum and learn alongside each other.

Parent involvement has been proven to lead to higher academic achievement in students.  As part of the distinct model at HCS, mini lessons and hands-on activities are sent home along with ideas and suggestions for everyday learning opportunities for Friday homeschooling days.  Parent participation is the foundation of the educational model at Haltom Christian.

Preschool classes are available for students ages three and four.  In the Pre-K3 classes, which meet two days per week, toddlers learn through play and sensory learning experiences.  The curriculum forPre-K4 students further develops their foundational knowledge of biblical principles, letters, numbers, colors, and shapes as they learn through sensory centers, crafts, games, story time, and songs.

Elementary classes teach biblical truths throughout each subject matter.  In addition to traditional core curriculum, interactive learning opportunities reinforce foundational academic skills.  Extracurricular subjects, such as music, art, physical education, and other hands-on courses are available on a rotating schedule.  Honorable Character, a positive based behavior management system, will also be in place in classrooms.

Haltom Christian School anticipates a minimum growth of one grade level year over year. However, greater growth is dependent upon interest in higher grade levels. HCS’ ultimate goal is to provide a Christ-centered education from preschool to twelfth grade.
