Harmany helps evacuees find safe shelter from deadly storms with emergency home sharing

Charlotte, NC (PRUnderground) September 3rd, 2019

Harmany, Inc. is an exclusive provider of dedicated emergency and evacuation home sharing services. Harmany was developed to help millions of evacuees rendered temporarily homeless by major disruptive events. The Harmany app helps match evacuees seeking temporary shelter with willing hosts for short stays.

“People have grown tired of watching disasters unfold, with no way to help until much later,” says Harmany’s Co-Founders. “Harmany was created to give everyone the ability to make a difference in the moment.”

Evacuees and hosts create simple profiles detailing their needs and offerings. After completing a series of security measures, profiles are visible on an interactive map. Harmany allows for secure matches to be made in as little as two hours.

Harmany’s Co-Founders went on to say “sleeping in a gas station parking lot, or worse yet choosing not to evacuate during these deadly storms, is not a viable option. We thought there must be a better solution, and we believe this is it.”

The Harmany app was released for the 2018 hurricane season. Harmany saw hundreds of hosts open their homes during Hurricanes Florence and Michael that year.

Currently, Hurricane Dorian has resulted in evacuation orders affecting more than 3 million residents throughout the southeast. Harmany provides evacuees with temporary shelter options across the entire region including Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Harmany hosts can easily add and manage shelter listings. New hosts can register temporary shelter space to help Hurricane Dorian evacuees in the region.

Unlike other options that may be available, Harmany is available anytime, anywhere and is available free-to-use without any time or geographical restrictions.
