The Adrian Noble directed show opens at the Wyndham’s Theatre officially on March 27th, although tickets are available to previews from March 22nd.
For those that have not seen the Oscar winning movie, the play is based on the story King Edward VI being thrust into the spotlight after his brother abdicates for love. The terrified King seeks the help of an Australian speech therapist to help with the King’s stammer; a stammer which is holding him back from public speaking.
Charles Edwards tackles the role of the King, the role which won Colin Firth an Oscar for Best Actor at the 83rd Academy Awards. Jonathan Hyde will be starring alongside as therapist Lionel Logue.
If you loved the movie, you will love the warmth and intimacy that comes from seeing the story unfold in the theatre and the performances from this stellar cast.
