More than 100 Volunteer Nude Body-Painted Models to March from NYC’s Times Square in a Call of Unity for All People

New York, NY (PRUnderground) May 23rd, 2019

Human Connection Arts, the non-profit founded by NYC-based artist and body painter Andy Golub, announced today that they’ll be body-painting over 100 nude models in NYC’s Times Square on June 15th as part of their Protest Against Divisiveness. Each model will be painted with their own message promoting unity and will then lead the assembled crowd down Broadway to join a song circle led by American Roots artist, Guy Davis, at the Flatiron Building. Other notable guests include civil rights attorney Ronald Kuby.

“The Protest Against Divisiveness is a call for unity of all people and a celebration of our unique differences,” said Andy Golub, the event organizer and founder of Human Connections Arts. “Our models are every day people, young, old, men, women, Republican, Democrat. By standing nude in public with nothing but a message of unity on their body, shows their commitment to human connection.”

The event begins at 12 noon in Times Square where over 100 volunteers, both male and female, will strip down totally naked and be painted with inspiring messages.  At 2 pm, the models and all protesters against divisiveness (who don’t have to be painted) will join together for a march down Broadway, showing off their unique bodies and messaging for all to see. Finally, from 3 pm to 3:30 pm, the crowd will join American Roots artist, Guy Davis, for a peaceful song circle in front of New York’s iconic Flatiron Building.

Golub has been organizing large scale body painting events around the world, including NYC Bodypainting Day, since 2014. Each year has a different purpose and theme, but all are transient expressions of living art.

Nude models for the event are volunteers. If you’d like to apply to be a model, or find out more about the event and other volunteer positions, visit:  https://humanconnectionarts.org/protest.  Models must be 18 years old or older.
