First Ever 3D Printing Event at NAIAS Draws a Big Crowd

Cincinnati, OH (PRUnderground) January 23rd, 2019

The inaugural Additive Manufacturing Workshop for Automotive at NAIS finished on Wednesday, January 16. Event organizers announced that attendance well exceeded expectation, with attendees from 103 different companies, 27 states and 5 countries.

The event was highlighted by presentations from automotive OEMs, tier one suppliers and service bureaus. Ford, Siemens, Hackrod, Carbon, Desktop Metal, Renishaw and Sodick headlined the program. Topics included full scale production, industry trends, 3D moldmaking, holistic manufacturing and more.

“The success of this show demonstrates how important additive technology has become to car makers,” said Dave Necessary, Event Manager. “The auto industry is embracing 3D printing and we are excited to help facilitate that growth.”

The workshop is part of a suite of industrial 3D printing events being held this year, including a 3D plastics workshop at Amerimold in June, the 3-day Additive Manufacturing Conference in Austin in August and a co-located composites event with CAMX in September.
