Toby TomTom merges influences from Hip-Hop, to Folk, to Dance. This comes together in his new song “Born 2 Be Free” with a release party on Feb 28th in Sea Cliff, NY.

Many would argue great music is an expression of honest emotion and spirit, in a universal language that has no boundaries. Clearly, this is the force moving through the stunningly innovative singer/songwriter Toby TomTom whose work authentically touches on very diverse styles, and is now bringing it all together to the joy of fans. His debut single where aspects of his love for Hip-Hop, Folk, and Dance music can all be felt, “Born 2 Be Free” encompasses the artist’s drive to express himself musically without constraint. The release party for the exciting song is set for February 28th, 2019, at K. DiResta Collective, 212 Sea Cliff Avenue, Sea Cliff, NY from 7:30 – 9:00p.m, and is sure to be something not to be missed. Wine and appetizers will be served, and Karen Bella will also be performing.
“We all should stand up & speak our truth, even if it makes us or others uncomfortable,” commented the ever-passionate Toby TomTom. “I think my debut song does a great job of expressing this and hope people enjoy it both musically and lyrically.”
While spending the last few years developing his skills as a visual artist and building a family, TomTom is no stranger to the music industry. In fact, his resume is quite jaw-dropping. Some highlights include teaming with his brother to introduce a 14-year old Alicia Keys to radio; winning the ASCAP Abe Olman Award for Most Promising Songwriter, an honor also won by John Legend; having his songs featured in the Off-Broadway play The Obeah Symphony (shown at The Billie Holiday Theater in Brooklyn); and having his work published internationally. He is a multifaceted musician singing, playing trumpet (so well he won a University scholarship for his ability), guitar, bass, drums, and piano.
“Born 2 Be Free” may be his debut single but we have certainly not heard the last of Toby TomTom who is set to take the music world by storm. It’s not the understatement to say he may be the next Prince or Stevie Wonder.
