IoT Tech Expo: World leading IoT conference in London – meet the speakers

The IoT Tech Expo Global; the world leading IoT conference series will arrive in the Olympia Grand, London the 25-26 April to host 500 industry leading speakers across dedicated conference streams covering the enterprise technology ecosystem. Co-located with a further 3 events exploring, AI, big data, cyber security, cloud and blockchain, this is the conference to attend in 2019.

Conference topics include edge computing, IoT connectivity solutions, industry 4.0 & 5.0, facilities management, buildings automation, smart meter & smart grids, building the connected supply chain, process automation, connected fleet, smart city infrastructure, asset monitoring & management, cloud, IoT data management and analytics, artificial intelligence, cyber security and blockchain.

With 500+ speakers in attendance, here’s just a handful of speakers who will be sharing their knowledge and experiences during the two-day conference:

Matthew Jennings, Global VP, Intelligent Enterprise Solutions, SAP

In his role at SAP, Jennings’ focus is to design business driven solutions utilizing enabling technology such as IoT, AI, blockchain and analytics. Prior to SAP, he was Regional President for Bosch Software Innovations in the Americas, where he was responsible for the overall business development and operations of connected IoT industrial solutions.

Jennings will present the keynote session ‘IoT and the intelligent enterprise; what matters?’ within the Enterprise IoT Solutions conference track on Thursday 25 April at 2:30pm. The session will explore the view that it’s not IoT technologies and platforms that drive a competitive advantage, it’s the integration to business strategy and outcomes that differentiates and creates value for the enterprise.  Jennings will look to answer the question; what are the best practices to achieve this?

Sielen Namdar, Industry Solutions Executive/Smart & Connected Communities, Cisco

Namdar, PE is an industry solutions executive with Cisco’s smart & connected communities’ organization. Within her role, Sielen leads teams to bring smart solutions to water, transportation, and energy customers to build/operate/maintain their facilities more efficiently, leveraging both IoT and real-time data analytics. Sielen holds a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Washington.

Namdar will be sharing her wealth of experience within the panel session ‘The future of smart city infrastructure’ alongside senior representatives from the European Commission, Bristol Energy and Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council. The session within the ‘Smart Transport & Cities’ conference track on Friday 26 April at 2:30pm will explore smart city infrastructure as the key to establishing the overall smart city framework and architecture. Is it the answer to the exponential growth of cities, and can it help in making them greener places to live and work?

Guillaume Sampic, Director of Strategy, BT Enterprise

As director of strategy, Sampic’s focus is on the new BT unit dedicated to B2B customers in the UK. Prior to this role, Sampic set up the new IoT unit at BT which focuses on delivering IoT solutions for BT internally and for BT customers on a global basis. Before joining BT, Guillaume held a variety of roles in EE, the number 1 mobile operator in the UK, in corporate strategy and marketing.

Sampic will be opening the Enterprise IoT Solutions conference on Thursday 25 April by discussing ‘The future of enterprise IoT’ at 10:20am, sharing his wealth of knowledge on the subject and examining his predictions for enterprise IoT within the next few years.

David Atkinson, UK Head of Manufacturing SME & Mid Corporate Banking, Lloyds Banking Group

Having joined Lloyds Banking Group in 1988, Atkinson has 30 years’ experiences within the banking industry and has held various client relationship management and senior leadership roles within the organisation. Before being appointed to lead the SME & Mid-Market Manufacturing sector across the UK in 2014, Atkinson’s roles included the Regional Director for the Commercial Banking division where he led a team of managers supporting around 13,000 commercial clients in addition to Chairman of the Banking & Finance Committee for the Gloucestershire. Atkinson also sits on a number of committees and advisory boards linked to various sector manufacturing & engineering initiatives.

Atkinson will be discussing ‘Digital Catalysts & The Future of British Manufacturing’ within the Connected Industry conference on Friday 26 April alongside representatives from Future of British Manufacturing. This session will explore the five key capabilities that every SME needs to embrace in order to achieve success in digital design and manufacturing, top three barriers to progress for an SME and a case study on how digital catalysts can enable real progress.

Nicola McCheyne, Head of Ideas Lab, Centrica Innovations

McCheyne is responsible for internal innovation at Centrica, where she scouts and incubates start-up ventures and was instrumental in developing the pioneering Cornwall Local Energy Market project. She holds a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering and Business from the University of Manchester and an MSc in Sustainable Development from the University of Exeter where she now holds an honorary research fellow appointment.

Within the panel session ‘Smart Grids & Distributed Energy Resources’, McCheyne will discuss the benefits of IoT applied energy technology on managing energy usage, cost efficiency, increase resiliency and environmental sustainability in addition to the benefits of implementing smart grids for distributed energy resources such as those generating, storing and using energy?
