Jabberwocky Candles Celebrates the Pennsylvania Coal Region with a Boilo Scented Candle

After a successful test release of a Boilo scented candle last Christmas, resulting in immediate sellouts, Jabberwocky Candles has expanded its fragrance offering and is now available at 14 Boyer’s Food Market Locations across Pennsylvania.

Boilo (pronounced Boil-o) is a traditional moonshine cocktail created by Lithuanian immigrants looking to recreate honey liquors form their homeland.  Traditionally, Boilo is a high proof mixture of oranges, lemons, honey, cinnamon, aromatic spices, and grain alcohol simmered over a stove.  Family recipes passed from generation to generation all have added their own special ingredients over the years.  There are several contests every year across Pennsylvania to see who makes the best Boilo.

“It took me 4 years to get the Boilo scent just right. In December of 2016, we did a market test at the local grocery store Boyer’s Market in Frackville, PA.  Jabberwocky Candles was featured in the local newspaper and a flood of people came rushing to the store to get their candles.  To prevent people from fighting over the last few candles, security personnel guarded the shelves.  People traveled over an hour to get their candles.” Pete Miernicki Chief Chandler of Jabberwocky Candles.

Jabberwocky Candles has already tripled last year’s sales in one month.  It is very likely that there won’t be enough candles to meet demand come Christmas.  It is advised to get your candles yearly while you still can.
