Kay Plumbing Services of Lexington, South Carolina is proud to be one of several local businesses sponsoring a picnic table at the Centennial Park complex currently being built for our military and their families at the Fort Jackson military base. Fort Jackson is a U.S. Army Basic Combat Training installation located within the city of Columbia, South Carolina.
Each week, around 3000 to 5000 people visit Fort Jackson, mainly to see their son or daughter become one of the newest soldiers in the U.S. Army. The new park will serve as a place where soldiers, civilians and their families can get together to visit, relax and share a meal on Family Day, Graduation Day, as well as enjoy themselves during more informal visits.
The park will also serve as a venue for military reenlistment, promotion and retirement ceremonies, as well as for marriages and other events.
Construction of the six pavilions built for family gatherings began in October 2018 and were completed in the Spring of 2019. Each pavilion will have six picnic tables, for a total of 36. Kay Plumbing is a proud sponsor of one of those picnic tables.
Konrad Orzechowski, CEO of Kay Plumbing Services said, “Family is at the top of my values list, and I’ve always advocated for families. So it makes me happy to sponsor a picnic table that families visiting their son or daughter being trained at Fort Jackson can use when they get together for a visit, a meal or a celebration at the park.”

The Fort Jackson military base was established over 100 years ago in 1917. Since then, over five million soldiers have been trained there to serve in the U.S. Army.
Besides the six pavilions, the park will feature plenty of green space along with winding trails, the 150-person capacity Wildcat Amphitheater, a Foreign Theater Plaza, and the informative Pathway of Patriots. Centennial Park is planned to be a part of Fort Jackson history that will be enjoyed by U.S. military and their families for many years to come.
