Louisville, KY (PRUnderground) April 19th, 2019

The Kentucky Derby Museum proudly kicks off Derby week with our 4th annual Fan Fest Presented by Watson’s. Join us as we celebrate 100 years of the Triple Crown, from Sir Barton to Justify. A panel discussion moderated by leading TVG racing analyst, Caton Bredar, will feature Justify’s jockey, Mike Smith, trainer Bob Baffert and WinStar Farm’s president and racing manager, Elliott Walden.

A new Triple Crown exhibit opens Fan Fest day. It honors Justify and the 100th anniversary of the 1st Triple Crown winner, Sir Barton. Joining the celebration is Jennifer Kelly, author of “Sir Barton and the Making of the Triple Crown.”

A Life After the Triple Crown panel discussion with Coolmore America and representatives of American Pharoah, Justify, and Seattle Slew, will also be a highlight.

Bourbon lovers can say “cheers!” to the Triple Crown, too. A limited-edition Maker’s Mark Private Select bottle is available now for presale. This “Cheers to 100 Years” bottle fits this year’s Fan Fest theme. The Triple Crown ticket, available for $200, gives guests admission to Fan Fest activities, the commemorative “Cheers to 100 Years” bottle, and access to a live signing by Justify’s connections and Rob Samuels of Maker’s Mark. Only 225 Triple Crown tickets will be available and are guaranteed to sell out quickly. Those interested in the presale can purchase tickets now at www.derbymuseum.org.

A tribute to the late John Asher, beloved Churchill Downs ambassador, and announcement of an exhibit dedication in his honor will take place at 3:30PM.

For kids, our Junior Jockey Zone is back this year from 10AM – 2PM. Children can enjoy horse-themed painting stations, horseshoe decorating, face painting, a caricature artist, a reading of “Milly the Filly” by author Nancy Pruitt, and much more!

Other highlights of the day include:

-Watching Kentucky Derby horses train on the track followed by a railside talk with retired Hall of Fame jockey Pat Day at 7:45AM

-Winston Memorial Dedication in the newly renovated Oaks Terrace Garden at 9:00AM

-Walking tours of historic Churchill Downs

-Showings of The Greatest Race, the Museum’s signature 360° movie

-Brunch buffet in the Derby Cafe Express

-Meet Resident Thoroughbred, Far Right and companion pony, Tatanka all day

Guests can experience everything Fan Fest Day has to offer for the cost of a regular general admission ticket. Tickets are $15 for adults, $14 for age 65+, $8 for children (ages 5-14). Children under five are free.

*The live signing and commemorative bottles are only available to those who purchase the $200 Triple Crown ticket. Must be at least 21 years of age.
