Lailien makes his declaration of musical autonomy with his new album “ENSOULAR”, out August 5th.
Over the course of his life, Lailien (otherwise known as Brad Shubat) has used music as an exploratory tool with which to experience life. At the age of 5, he began his artistic journey and has been working towards this moment ever since.
“ENSOULAR” is a captivating album that incorporates existential art in the days of worldwide societal upset. The album is an ode to language, imagination, and the self as multiplicity. There are 26 songs on this album, one for every letter of the alphabet. The artist has designed the album to be listened to in order or you can scramble the tracks to create a new listening experience, similarly to how letters can be endlessly rearranged to make words. Listeners can create multiple unique listening experiences according to their mood or time constraints. Each song has been carefully curated to create a transformational listening experience for his audience.
The singles “Blue Love,” “Heaven,” and “Holiday” from the album were released prior to the launch of “ENSOULAR”, garnering Lailien and impressive (and still growing) 100,000 views on YouTube and other streaming sites.
Lailien paired up with Grammy winning producer Mark Zubek as a co-producer on this 5 year + expedition creating this album.

Lailien is a fictional character created by his alter-ego, Brad Shubat. Shubat describes himself as an “extra-dimensional sorcerer, body-suit of Brahman, rational empiricist, fool, gender fluid ghost through darkness, historical materialist, psychopomp and trickster.” The sound he has created borrows from many influences including pop, rock, and jazz.
