Latino Christian National Network Responds to Introduction of the Dignity Act of 2025
The Latino Christian National Network (LCNN), a collective of pastors and faith leaders representing diverse Latino congregations across the United States, has released a public statement in response to the introduction of the Dignity Act of 2025—a bipartisan immigration reform bill currently being debated in Congress.
As Christian leaders, LCNN affirms the urgency of immigration reform and welcomes sincere legislative efforts to address the broken system. However, the organization expresses deep concern over several key provisions in the proposed bill that fall short of offering true dignity, justice, and a path to full inclusion for millions of undocumented immigrants.
“For more than 30 years, Christian leaders in the Latino Christian National Network have been at the forefront of the political struggle for just and humane immigration reform,” the organization stated. “Our sense of indignation has only grown in response to the continued persecution and oppression of our community, particularly under policies like those advanced by the Trump administration. While we welcome any sincere effort to fix our broken immigration system, including the introduction of the Dignity Act of 2025, we see it only as a starting point. Congress must go further to ensure real justice, dignity, and inclusion for our immigrant brothers and sisters.”
The statement outlines both the bill’s strengths and its significant shortcomings, while calling on Congress to craft legislation that reflects the nation’s values and the biblical mandate to love and welcome the stranger.
