LBRY Brings First Ever Original Series To The Blockchain
Cop Chronicles is available today exclusively on LBRY and Spee.ch, Unbubbled with Jamie King coming in November

Cop Chronicles releases today, exclusively on LBRY, a blockchain-based video platform. The highly binge-able comedy series from Heckbender follows the adventures of Higgs and McGraw, a couple of no-nonsense cops chasing their meanest adversary yet. With Mark Potts (director of Cinema Six, S&M Lawncare, and Spaghettiman) at the helm, Cop Chronicles puts an unexpected spin on classic buddy cop tropes.
“This seven-episode mini-series represents a milestone in cryptocurrency, blockchain, and the entertainment industry,” said Jeremy Kauffman, LBRY’s CEO. “Original series like Cop Chronicles can be successfully published on the blockchain through decentralized platforms that connect creators directly with their fans – and this is just the beginning.”
LBRY also plans to release the first ever original talk show on the blockchain, Unbubbled with Jamie King, in November. King is best know for Steal this Film and Steal This Show (produced with TorrentFreak), which looked at the strange world of copyright law in the digital age. Unbubbled will explore controversial issues with an emphasis on finding the truth instead of winning arguments – a different approach in what’s become a hyperpartisan media space. The first episode in the series will examine the current cryptocurrency boom, and ask whether it’s sustainable or just another bubble, with new episodes following every two weeks.
LBRY is a blockchain-based protocol and a desktop app that gives content creators the ability to deliver their work directly to their audience, and puts them in control of how much they charge for it. It puts creators and consumers, not media distribution networks, in the driver’s seat. LBRY is a working product with hundreds of thousands of users, right now.
LBRY is already hosting content from popular studios and creators like Oscilloscope Laboratories, John Cleese, Casually Explained, MinutePhysics, and Eli the Computer Guy. More are joining every day. They’ve also built the LBRY app, a desktop viewer for video content on the LBRY network, as the first implementation of their new protocol.
