“As we only started trading in November of 2020, we are still a relatively young business”, commenced Robin, the owner of the company. It was a humble beginning when Robin started the company. However, starting a business can never be a cakewalk. And, Leigh’s Locksmiths remained no exception. As a budding entrepreneur, Robin had to face rigorous challenges down the road. Things weren’t as he expected they would be.

With no contacts and the local market highly dominated by established businesses (estate agents) with their own maintenance teams, the initial days for Leigh’s Locksmiths were marked by closed doors.

“I had more doors closed in my face than I care to remember when I was visiting local businesses to offer my services. I was told on a number of occasions that I wouldn’t last 12 months and that the competition was too much, but I was determined not to give up”, stated Robin.

Undeterred by discouragements and prevailing challenges, he determined to defy the odds and make his presence within the industry. He took more strategic moves into his business to compete in the race and leverage his business. As part of it, in 2021 he focused on advertising on Facebook, followed by other social media later. The efforts turned to fruition. His work started gaining notice.

Customer Satisfaction As Cornerstone Of Success

Challenges always confront lessons. This became true with Leigh Locksmith, as he stated, “As the work started to come in, I knew that as long as the customer was happy when I had completed any repairs, then that was another win for customer service.” 

He continued, “Over time the work came in, the customers were happy, the positive feedback and positive reviews continued and the recommendations continued.” 

This pattern of growth persisted throughout 2021, and 2022, and carried seamlessly into 2023, solidifying Leigh’s Locksmiths’ presence in the industry.

Looking Ahead:

Despite the uncertainties of starting a business, Leigh’s Locksmiths has seen positive growth each year, a testament to its resilience and commitment to excellence. “As for 2024, my feet are still firmly on the ground. The business has positively grown each year, and I am looking forward to the next 12 months,” said Robin.

As reflects on the journey, Robin extends his gratitude to the customers who have been the bedrock of support, by stating “Without them, we would not be here now!”
