Louisiana farmers, ranchers invited to attend informational sessions about USDA’s Discrimination Financial Assistance Program

Analytic Acquisitions is an official administrator for the USDA’s Discrimination Financial Assistance Program (DFAP), which makes available $2.2 billion to producers who experienced farm-lending discrimination prior to January 1, 2021.

As part of ongoing outreach efforts to help farmers, ranchers, and forest landowners who experienced discrimination in U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) farm lending programs apply for financial assistance that may be available to them, Analytic Acquisitions LLC will host a series of community events in Louisiana in November. Analytic Acquisitions is an official administrator for the USDA’s Discrimination Financial Assistance Program (DFAP), which makes available $2.2 billion to producers who experienced farm-lending discrimination prior to January 1, 2021.
USDA announced the opening of the application process for DFAP on July 7, 2023. The deadline to apply for the program is Jan. 13, 2024.
“These in-person events are intended to help raise awareness about the Discrimination Financial Assistance Program and give eligible farmers and ranchers access to personalized assistance, free of charge,” Eric Singleton, Western Region Program Manager for the Discrimination Financial Assistance Program and Analytic Acquisitions LLC. “Similar events are taking place to reach farmers and ranchers across the country, hosted by field representatives who are trained and ready to support a friendly and transparent application process.”

Analytic Acquisitions LLC has also opened a brick-and-mortar local office in Opelousas, La., where farmers can work with trained agents from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. CT, Monday – Friday. Beginning November 18, 2023, office hours will include Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. CT. The office is located at 5367 I-49 S. Service Rd. Opelousas, LA 70570
Local events and brick-and-mortar offices are part of a comprehensive outreach process that is designed so that farmers and ranchers have multiple options to gain assistance at no cost. Producers have the option to file applications online at 22007apply.gov, by mail, or by turning in applications at the brick-and-mortar offices.

The program website offers an English- and Spanish-language application that can be downloaded or submitted electronically via an e-filing portal. Additionally, the site provides comprehensive information on obtaining in-person or virtual technical assistance, supplementary program resources, and detailed program guidelines. The program also offers a call center, 1-800-721-0970, which is open from 8 a.m. ET to 8 p.m. PT, seven days a week except for Federal holidays—the call center has English and Spanish-speaking agents.
To implement the DFAP application process, the USDA has selected Analytic Acquisitions LLC to provide technical assistance and outreach in the western United States, in collaboration with community-based organizations. Other organizations are responsible for outreach in the eastern United States.
