Marcus Levonne Drops Single “Rose Gold” Along with Music Video

California-based artist Marcus Levonne is stepping out onto the scene with new release, “Rose Gold.” Accompanied by a new music video, the single is a promising debut for the young artist.

After listening to “Rose Gold,” you might think Marcus is singing to a girl about how he wants to impress her with his love and riches. However, the girl in the song is actually a symbol for his dreams. The rose symbolizes his love for music and gold symbolizes his success. The music video depicts a lavish lifestyle with flashy cars and a fancy home; but then brings matters back to reality and shows how Marcus knows he has a long road ahead of him to reach his dreams.

“Rose Gold” sets up an exciting 2020 for Marcus. He’s got several singles on the way, leading up to a full EP in the summertime. Marcus will also be releasing more videos, new content, and merch alongside his music releases throughout the year, so be sure to follow him on Instagram to stay updated.

Having grown up listening to hip hop, R&B, oldies funk, and reggae, you can expect a number of influences on Marcus’s music. His goal is to “bring soul back into hip hop.”

Marcus says: “I believe a part of hip-hop culture has lost touch with its roots and I want to keep some of the old soulful sounds relevant while still adding a fun, upbeat new twist to my music.”

Marcus realized his talent for music at a young age when his mother took him to violin lessons. When he was 7 years old, he played for a local Cajun band called Acadiana. Marcus continued to work on music through middle school, but through high school, he put football first and focused on getting into college. While playing football at Fresno State, he started working on music again with his teammate Anthony Grayson, a.k.a. Kenny La Fox. As he got back into music with Kenny La Fox, Marcus also started working with OTM Media Inc., a group of individuals with experience and knowledge in the music business that has brought him this far.
