Market It Media Group, a boutique digital marketing agency in Pasadena, CA, announced today they will be a sponsor, second year in a row for the EF Wallengren Fund for ALS Research Annual Hoopfest event on May 13th, 2017, at 9 AM (PDT) at Calabasas High School (22855 Mulholland Hwy, Calabasas, CA 91302).
Hoopfest is an annual event from EF Wallengren Fund, a nonprofit organization affiliated with the ALS Association whose purpose is to cater to the needs of over thirty thousand people suffering from ALS all across the nation. EF Wallengren Fund is responsible for raising awareness of ALS, making information available regarding research trials, engaging in community and corporate outreach programs, sponsoring a series of sporting events to raise funds for ALS research, and helping Lou Gehrig’s disease patients live their lives with dignity, acceptance, honor, and humor.

The organization was created in honor of Ernie Wallengren, a multiple award-winning American television producer after being diagnosed with ALS. Although he struggled as the disease progressed, Wallengren persisted and inspired others with his optimism. He was a spokesman for all ALS sufferers by contributing time and effort toward ALS research and the development of a cure.

Admission to Hoopfest is free for attendees. Those wishing to play basketball in support can register for $60 per person. Students who wish to play will receive a discounted rate of $40. Price includes entrance fee, one entry for 3-point shooting contest, commemorative T-shirt, raffle ticket, snack ticket, and lunch from Stonefire Grill catering. There will also be a silent auction to raise funds for ALS research, and donations are welcome. All proceeds raised are administered through the Golden West chapter of the ALS Association and go toward finding a cure for ALS.
