Professor Jak Othman confirmed today a scheduled stop of his United States 2019 Tour at Monterey, California on Saturday, October 12. Othman will be supporting a seminar on Silat, an origin combat art of Muay Thai, organized by local self-defense school Patriot Combatives California in collaboration with BodyWorx Martial Arts of Monterey.

Martial Arts International Scholar and Film Producer Professor Jak Othman confirms 2019 US Tour stop at the Monterey Peninsula in support of local self-defense school.
Professor Jak Othman confirmed today a scheduled stop of his United States 2019 Tour at Monterey, California on Saturday, October 12. Othman will be supporting a seminar on Silat, an origin combat art of Muay Thai, organized by local self-defense school Patriot Combatives California in collaboration with BodyWorx Martial Arts of Monterey.
Prof. Jak Othman is a former Muay Thai Champion and International scholar and instructor of several martial arts formats and combat systems, including Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and Silat. He was inducted to the Malaysian Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2009. More recently, Prof. Othman was also recognized as Grand Master of Hariman Beranti Silat in 2018.
Prof. Jak Othman is also producer and director of several award winning TV series on martial arts and holistic wellness featured by National Geographic, The History Channel , and The Discovery Channel. His documentary “Inside Silat” earned 5 nominations and was awarded Best Film, Best Editing and Best Arts and Culture film at the Malaysia Documentary Film Festival.
Prof. Jak Othman will be teaching a 4-hour workshop open to the general public that will cover technique, evolution, and battle drills of the ancient art of Silat Tomoi, one of the origin arts of Muay Thai. The registration for the general public seminar is $100. In addition, Prof. Jak Othman will be providing training to local members of the U.S. military at a private event.
Both trainings are possible through the collaboration between two local organizations: Patriot Combatives California and BodyWorx Martial Arts of Monterey.
