New York, NY (PRUnderground) July 8th, 2020

Emir Hamzic is an All-American athlete, but is a Serbian made tennis player. The national champion could of very well continued his career as a male model. Towering over at 6’3″ (1.91 m) his dominant features & athletic physique could have laid groundwork for a promising career as a model or social media influencer.

What should we know about New Jersey native Emir Hamzic?

Meet Emir Hamzic, the model turned pro tennis player and now coach.

In highschool Emir was nicknamed “model boy”. He was later scouted to work for Abercrombie & Fitch + Hollister before finally getting the hint that it was time to take up modeling. Emir graduated from Barbizon New Jersey, and upon graduation, he won the award for the biggest male personality. Emir then went on to sign a modeling contract with the APM&T agency and immediately began his modeling career, walking in events such as New York Fashion Week.

Emir used all the money he made from modeling to fund his tennis career. In addition to working and being a full time student, Emir maintained a rigorous training schedule to compete in the ITF Men’s World Tennis Tour.

Emir soon discovered that the money he made from modeling was insuffienent in financing his professional tennis career. It was at this moment he decided to pursue a career in coaching. He was able to work part time which allowed him to intensify his training. Once he realized that the money he made from an entire day spent modeling could be made teaching a one hour tennis lesson, he decided to focus soley on coaching.

Even though Emir never won an ATP title, his hard work paid off in the most unexpected ways: on May 18, 2017, at the age of 20, Emir achieved All-American status and became a National Champion. After contemplating permanently quitting the sport, choosing to play college tennis was one of the best decisions he ever made.

Emir eventually came to recognize the commitment that was necessary to continue his professional career. The reality for most professional tennis players is that if you are ranked outside the top 100 of the ATP rankings it gets very difficult very fast to financially support your career. Even after achieving an undefeated collegiate record in singles and doubles, it was because of this harsh reality that Emir decided to prioritize academics and coaching tennis full time. This way it kept him in the game as tennis is his passion.

While attending Brookdale a junior college, he represented the Jersey Blues for two years. Emir received numerous offers to play for various Division 1 universities, as well as other opportunities to pursue his career playing professional tennis. In 2017, Emir was accepted into Kean University where he was awarded a full academic scholarship.

In 2020, he graduated with a degree in Exercise Science from Kean University, finishing his last semster with a 4.0 GPA. Emir fully intends to use this knowledge to specialize in the physiological demands of tennis players. With the addition of this degree, he now has all of the tools necessary for his career as a coach. In the end most players walk away with nothing, Emir was able to walk away making history, cementing his name as an accomplished tennis player with a successful coaching career.

One of Emir’s coaching highlights was having the opportunity to work alongside tennis royalty Nick Bollettieri. Later, in 2019, Emir established HAMZIC All American Training — a private tennis coaching business that originated in New Jersey & New York, but has now expanded to Chicago, Illinois. Hamzic is currently an academy & travel coach. After a successful tennis career, Emir now trains players of all ages and levels to help them one day reach their tennis dreams just like he has.
