Beauty Marketing Immersion (BMI), a one-day hybrid workshop/masterclass for beauty industry entrepreneurs, hits Memphis on Saturday, December 29, 2018, followed by New York City in March 2019. BMI was created by and will be taught by Memphis native and master beauty marketer Olivia F. Scott.

Through in-class interactive assignments, Scott will teach her NYU curriculum and guide students in developing their brand, competitive advantage, target audience, marketing strategy, media plans and tactics including Facebook, Instagram ads and Mailchimp emails.  Attorney Angela Green will share legal best practices, Lifestyle Designer Andrea Fenise will share branding expertise, and practical advice will be shared by successful Memphis beauty business owners Andrea Johnson, Owner of The Bubble Bistro and Sherri Benson, Owner of The Stylists Place.

NYC-based Olivia F. Scott says, “Memphis is my birthplace and home.  My love of all things beauty started here with frequent visits to salons and beauty supply stores with my mother and sister as a child. There is a tremendous amount of creativity and beauty talent in Memphis – women who own salons, or want to own salons, and people who make beauty products or have products they want to launch. I am grateful for this opportunity to celebrate beauty in Memphis.”

The Former Chief Marketing Officer of Carol’s Daughter and marketer for Andre Walker Hair and IMAN Cosmetics, Scott has taught marketing and media courses at NYU as an Adjunct Professor for the past 10 years.  Additionally, for the last four years, Scott has been the producer of the ESSENCE Festival Beauty & Style Experience.

“Teaching for 10 years and leading marketing for some of the nation’s top beauty brands uniquely equips me to offer working professionals much-needed information to grow their businesses, in a time and cost-efficient manner,” says Scott.

The BMI event will empower beauty professionals. And to embolden women not yet clear on their value and beauty, 10% of net registration fees will benefit the Family Safety Center of Memphis, which provides services to domestic violence abuse victims.
