New innovative space-saving surfboard design collapses to less than one-third its size saving surfers time, money, and hassle while traveling.

Christmas just got cooler thanks to a new five-foot two-inch travel surfboard that collapses down to airline carry-on size. Giving the avid surf traveler a convenient way to store their surfboard, this nylon carbon compact surfboard performs a mind-blowing trick. When not in use, it easily compresses to less than two feet long with no special skills or tools required. Backpack sized surfboard, anyone?
Expanded, the surfboard has a height of 62 inches, made of mostly of recyclable, sustainable materials and using the latest 3D Printing technologies to manufacture, this board is the future. So how does it work? Think of it as somewhat of a two-parter. The board has an origami-like core that expands when a collapsible stringer, is inserted through its center, literally taking seconds to setup. Lightweight, weighing around 7 pounds, the core is made up of a combination of nylon and other themoplastic materials covered by a transparent waterproof fabric skin. The best part is, it takes seconds to expand and use.
An Industrial Designer and avid surfer with over 20-years of experience, the designer, owner, and CEO of MorphSurf, Matt Voore, said, “This is arguably the world’s first truly collapsible surfboard.” It doesn’t need to be installed on a donor board nor does it break down into multiple large pieces like other collapsible board systems available today, rather using an origami like core 90% of the board’s structure collapses kind of like an accordion. There is no hassles to use. We think it will redefine surf travel and possibly the way surfboards are manufactured. We set a new bar for what surfers can expect from transportable boards.”
