Naismith Hall Announces Affordable 2019-20 Room & Board Rates, up to 40% Less than other KU Housing

Naismith Hall announced they are renewing their commitment to providing affordable housing for the students attending KU; their room and board rates will continue to start under $8,000 per year, with their all-inclusive Standard Double rate priced at 40% less than other campus housing options.

While housing rates across the country continue to increase, Naismith hopes that in keeping their costs low and providing $1000 scholarships, they can make KU accessible to students that may have otherwise considered KU to be out of their price range.

“We have seen college housing costs increase across the country including here on the KU Campus, and we realized that we are in a unique position to help make college education more affordable and accessible for students and their families. As a family-owned private company, we have greater flexibility when it comes to pricing and scholarships. Our goal is to make it easier for students to experience this great University,” said Brian Haney, General Manager at Naismith Hall. “By offering lower rates as well as housing scholarships, we hope to provide our residents with a supportive housing experience at a cost they can afford, giving them everything they need to succeed at KU.”

At Naismith Hall, residents customize their housing experience to meet their preference and budgetary needs, while still receiving all-inclusive services and suite-style living. Students can choose from a variety of meal plans and room types and can even pick their roommates and their exact room when they sign up. Naismith’s meal plans are offered at a number of different price points, from 19 meals a week to their new 7-meal per week plan. Students can also choose from a number of room types, all of which offer semi-private baths and are available as either singles or doubles. Their newest room types include the Deluxe Room, with newly renovated suites and bathrooms, as well as a Studio Room with a kitchenette in the room.

Naismith Hall residents also enjoy a number of all-inclusive programs and services including tutoring, housekeeping, a private pool, fitness center, onsite dining, a community kitchen, building-wide Wi-Fi, residence life programs and events, and more. All of these amenities are included at no additional cost.
