The upcoming auction will feature 280 lots from NYC and the metro area estates, including an amazing selection of decorative arts, fine furniture, 20th-century paintings, works on paper, and photography. All of the items can be viewed in person at the Showplace Design Center location at 40 West 25th Street, NYC, Wednesday through Sunday, 10 am – 6 pm.

The top lot of the New York City Estate Auction at Showplace is an oil on canvas painting attributed to the Italian artist Giorgio de Chirico (pictured), which depicts male nude figures riding horses on a beach. The artwork comes from an NYC estate and is estimated at $8,000-12,000. Among other notable fine art pieces are a modern mixed-media sculpture attributed to the American artist Louis Nevelson (estimated at $8,000-12,000), Joan Miro’s 1973 etching and aquatint on paper “Picasso i Els Reventos” (estimated at $2,000-4,000), and Georges Braque’s 1963 lithograph on paper “Le Rapace” (estimated at $2,000-4,000).

For all those who love fine furniture, the auction can offer authentic Maison Jansen modern vanity and stool from the 1970s, a pair of Jorge Zalszupin mid-century jacaranda wood upholstered armchairs, and a pair of Sergio Rodrigues mid-century Magrini stools, among other furniture pieces. Each of the mentioned lots is estimated at $3,000-5,000.
