Named after the founder’s daughter, Ngozi, which means blessing, the Ngozi Foundation International School is rallying forces to open its grace-giving doors. Constructed in the city of Ikeduru in the Imo State of Nigeria, the school is slated for its grand opening in September of 2020. At the direction of the NG Foundation Inc., it will offer an international standard early childhood education free of charge to children who apply and are accepted. Accepted kids will not only enjoy primary education; they will also have the support of feeding and board.
Chinedu Moses Chukwunta, the founder of NG Foundation Inc., said, “We want the disadvantaged children of Ikeduru to have ongoing support. Our website will provide related material on causes that help kids and also aid in the eradication of hunger.”
Founded in 2018, the NG Foundation’s mission is as broad as the need for its goodwill. The non-profit organization aims to provide free community programs, tutoring, libraries, and workshops that reach into technology, music, and the visual arts.
“We want to offer a wide variety of extracurricular activities that range from music lessons, to team sports, and art classes. We want options that will inspire our students’ interests so creativity will bolster self-esteem and strengthen the areas in which they live.”
At an estimated cost of NGN 65 million, the school and its accompanying hostel project is a large endeavor. The NG Foundation Inc. is funded by its board, sponsorship, donations, and fundraisers and will accept donations to help meet their goal. Video reports on the construction progress are available on their website and Facebook page.
Application forms to attend the school are available on NG Foundation’s website at http://www.ngozifoundation.com.
