Norwalk, CT (PRUnderground) November 17th, 2020
Akademos announced today a new partnership with Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College (NHSC), a public tribal community college that serves the Three Affiliated Tribes of the Fort Berthold Reservation headquarters at New Town and its surrounding neighbors. This partnership will give the college’s students access to a vast selection of low-cost textbooks through a personalized online ordering platform. The convenient, cost-effective, and efficient course materials will launch December 1st to support the spring 2021 semester.
“We are pleased to be partnering with Akademos to continue our mission to provide quality cultural, academic, and vocational education and student services for the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nations,” said Dr. Twyla Baker, President, Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College. “Transitioning to a centralized, online bookstore is an innovative solution towards offering our students more support, better service, and low prices.”
The new platform will help students with immediate savings on course materials. The vast online selection includes new, used, eBook, and rental materials at significantly lower prices, with 24x7x365 accessibility and free shipping on new and used retail orders over $49. In addition to the added convenience and cost savings for course materials, NHSC students will be offered a new program that provides them a voucher to purchase a laptop through the bookstore. The voucher program offers a greater level of accessibility to all students no matter their location.
The comprehensive Akademos platform will empower administrators with advanced and innovative tools for managing all aspects of course materials adoption. Faculty can compare prices while considering past adoption history, current selections, and recommendations. And real-time analytics features make it possible to track student purchasing and utilization, communicate with faculty and students via built-in notifications, and make changes at any time.
“Our full-service platform provides powerful tools to make the lives of faculty and administration easier while reducing course materials costs for students,” said Raj Kaji, CEO, Akademos. “We’re delighted that NHSC has selected Akademos to support their mission and provide a course materials platform that will foster the success of the entire community and enrich the lives of the MHA Tribal members.”
