NYC’s Peoples Improv Theater Founder, Ali Reza Farahnakian, Is Bringing Laughter to Healthcare Workers and First Responders

They say laughter is the best medicine*(aside from actual medicine), which is exactly what The Peoples Improv Theater (PIT) founder and Saturday Night Live writing alum, Ali Reza Farahnakian, plans to administer by hosting a free online introductory improvisational comedy class to celebrate Healthcare Workers and First Responders. “I was an EMT in college for a year,” says Farahnakian, “so I have an inkling of the challenges that face healthcare workers and first responders on the front lines, and that was in a non-Covid world. If I can help even 1% to lighten their load, then maybe that’s one way I can help”.

This complimentary comedy session will take place on Sunday, December 13th at 9pm via this Zoom Link. During the hour-long session, viewers will have the chance to ask questions and learn about various aspects of comedy performance and writing in an inclusive virtual space with other members in their field of work. After the Zoom class, any Healthcare Worker or First Responder interested in continuing their comedy education is welcome to a 10% discount off any class taught through The Peoples Improv Theater.
