NYC’s The Peoples Improv Theater (THEPIT-NYC.COM) Adds New Free Seminar to Lineup of Award-Winning Comedy Classes

Industry: Entertainment & Games

Take your virtual meetings to the next level with Improv Your Zoom Meetings taught by ICF-Certified coach and Peoples Improv Theater (The PIT) instructor, Taren Sterry.

New York City, NY (PRUnderground) January 26th, 2021

After almost a year of working from home, most employees can agree that one thing is true: virtual meetings have lost their charm. Changing the background on Zoom to make it look like someone is in space, on a tropical island, or sitting next to a cross-legged, mitten-wearing Bernie Sanders just doesn’t make coworkers laugh like it used to. It’s time for a new approach. An improvement, or better yet, an improv-ment! ICF-Certified coach and PIT instructor, Taren Sterry is leading a free online seminar on Thursday, February 11th at 6pm called Improv Your Zoom Meetings, which will teach viewers how to be more effective over the screen as a facilitator or presenter and leave your audience wanting more.

Additionally, The PIT offers a wide variety of fun classes and one-off improv jam sessions for people to look forward to after a long day of work. For an exciting way to practice the art of improvisational comedy with players from around the world, The Ultimate Improv Jam is happening this Tuesday, January 26th at 8pm. For comedy enthusiasts interested in learning more about the art and fundamentals of improvisational comedy, Level 1: Introduction to Improv, taught by Dana Shulman, starts Tuesday, February 2nd at 6pm. Improv For Lawyers is an intro level, stress-free class that focuses on sharpening communication skills and active listening. The class starts Tuesday, February 2nd at 7pm and is led by PIT instructor, Janice McIntyre.

In this new age of digital comedy, performers can learn how to write, shoot, and edit their own material with Character Videos & Digital Presence, kicking off Wednesday, February 3rd at 7pm. Intro to Stand-Up: Drop-In! lets first timers and people new to stand-up work on their own material while focusing on joke structure, editing, and polishing, making laughter not only healing, but productive as well! The stand-up class starts Saturday, February 13th at 3pm and is taught by PIT instructor and performer, Chris Griggs. See all these classes here! https://thepit-nyc.com/available-classes/
