President of Apex Security Inc, a 2021 ThreeBestRated® award-winning Security Systems, shares his journey

Apex Security Inc has won the 2021 ThreeBestRated® award for one of the Top Rated Security Systems in Grande Prairie. This marks their fifth time winning the ThreeBestRated® award since 2017.

“It’s an honor to be recognized in our field,” says Dave Bruce, President of Apex Security Inc. “Our staff work very hard to provide quality and professional services to our customers. When I saw the listing as one of the ThreeBestRated®, it was a tribute to my team,” he further adds.

About Apex Security Inc:

Dave entered the world of security right after finishing high school in 1984. “My father had a security company that I was fortunate to work for,” he says.

He started off as a security guard working at our local community college before transitioning into the technical side of security, installing cameras and alarm systems.

He later left his father’s business to follow his own passion and founded Apex Security Inc in 2005. “My first client was the Grande Prairie Inn, where I worked the night security position. Shortly after, I hired my first employee and searched for more clients,” he said, reminiscing about his past.

Today, Apex Security Inc is one of Grande Prairie’s premier security service providers, operating with a team of over 70 employees and offers security to over 1100 customers.

Dave credits his team’s ability to provide full service to their success. “We are unique because we install the security hardware, monitor the occurrences with our 24-hour dispatch and respond to Alarms or occurrences with our own 24-hour guard service. I believe this allows us to provide the highest quality service,” he notes.

Unique services:

Apex Security Inc specializes in video monitoring. “Our Video monitoring center is amazing,” Dave says. “Our system uses Video Analytics to notify our dispatchers of unauthorized entries or trespassers. This information is immediately sent out to our team of mobile patrolmen that attend,” he further adds.

They also stay up-to-date with all the latest technologies in the security system industry. “A new product that we have been installing for our client’s is a radar sensor that communicates directly with our advanced cameras. The radar covers a large area, and if motion is detected it sends data to onsite cameras. that zoom in and follow the motion occurred. This allows our dispatcher to have ‘eyes’ on the person or vehicle immediately,” he explains.

Dave plans to expand his business more this year. “Our company is expanding to communities in our area. We want to bring our effective full solution security to other towns,” he says excitedly.
