Psychic Medium Nancy Mello says Halloween / Dia De Los Muertos is an opportunity to grow deeper in faith, and recognize and connect with loved ones who have passed on.
“Faith is believing the impossible is possible,” she says, “and there’s proof that your loved ones are still around you.”
Mello, who is also a clairvoyant and animal intuitive, says while there’s something playful and child-like about dressing up in costume and eating candy, there’s something powerful to experience on Halloween by opening the channels to believing in a continued connection to loved ones. “We don’t have to choose between either childhood games or mature faith,” she says, “We can do both.”
Mello hosts Live Psychic Readings with Nancy, a weekly one-hour podcast every Friday at 8 pm EST for listeners to call in with questions. Most people’s questions center on when they’ll meet the love of their life, when they’ll be able to purchase a house, when the perfect job is coming their way, and when they will have children. She says the program’s popularity is increasing now because economic, political, and social concerns dominating the news are causing people to seek out comfort, reassurance, and answers.
People tend to hold a misconception that psychics just look into crystal balls. However, Mello says her psychic readings are grounded in truth. “I tell clients before I start that everything I say will be something you should be able to prove,” she says, “I give people information about themselves that there’s no possible way I could logically know.”
Mello is committed to evolving the common view of psychics. “There’s this back-alley feeling like it should be hush-hush if you go see a psychic,” she says, “But people from all walks of life come to see me – including many health care professionals and therapists.” She anticipates a time when people consult with psychics the same normal way they consult with, for example, life coaches. “Psychics just have clairvoyant abilities, which means I can add extra information.”
She adds that people also expect psychics to look and differently. “But the truth is I have a spouse, I am a parent, and I serve in my local community,” she says, “Furthermore, I do not sense all the time. My husband says he’s disappointed we still haven’t won the lottery yet,” she laughs.
