R. Donald Doherty, Jr., M.D. Becomes First Physician in Fredericksburg to Earn Board Certification from the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine

Donald Doherty, Jr., M.D. is now triple board certified, having earned Board Certification in Aesthetic Medicine through the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine (AAAM). As the first physician in Fredericksburg to earn this certification, Dr. Doherty serves the community with the highest level of expertise at Cosmetic Center by VIVA.

The Board Certification program offered by the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine has received global recognition. All physicians who earn the AAAM Board Certification have participated in rigorous coursework and passed a written examination as well as an oral presentation. Dr. Doherty joins the ranks with over 5,000 AAAM Board Certified physicians worldwide.

In addition to aesthetic medicine, Dr. Doherty is Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology in both Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology.He received fellowship training in angiography and interventional radiology at the University of Virginia. At Medical College of Virginia, Dr. Doherty was a research fellow in rheumatology, allergy and immunology. From 1999-2002, he served as a medical examiner for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Dr. Doherty joined Radiologic Associates of Fredericksburg in 2003 and is a proud member of the Fredericksburg community.
