WASHINGTON, DC AND RESTON, VA (PRUnderground) April 15th, 2016

Resonate, a leading provider of intelligence-to-activation technology that helps organizations connect more deeply with their audience, announced today that the company took the Silver Award in the 2016 Pollies. The Pollie Award, from the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC), is widely recognized as the industry’s highest honor bestowed upon political consultants at the national and international levels. Resonate was recognized in the category of “Internet Advertising – Best Use of Targeting” for its work on behalf of the “Exporters for EX-IM” Campaign.

The AAPC announced this year’s winners—selected by a jury of judges–at the 2016 Pollie Awards on April 14th in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Pollie Awards are bipartisan honors awarded annually by the AAPC to members of the political advertising and communications industry who have demonstrated superior work on behalf of their candidates and causes. Esquire magazine has dubbed the Pollie Awards “…the Oscars of political advertising.”

“We are honored to be recognized by the AAPC as a 2016 Pollie Award winner,” said Bryan Gernert, CEO of Resonate. “Our work for ‘Exporters for EX-IM’ is a great example of how we combine unmatched intelligence and pinpoint activation to achieve our clients’ desired outcomes.”

About Resonate’s Winning Campaign

Resonate was recognized for its advanced data analytics and online targeting campaign for Exporters for Ex-Im, a coalition supporting the bank’s reauthorization.

Resonate was tasked with identifying persuadable voters as well as congressional staffers and legislators to inform the online ad placement strategy and deliver online media to these audiences.

  • To target persuadable voters, Resonate identified two voting blocs–“Small Town Patriots” and “Post-Industrial Blue Dogs”—that had the highest levels of engagement with the campaign messaging. The Resonate campaign achieved a 3x increase in engagement from the initial campaign to the end.
  • Resonate leveraged its proprietary data to reach legislators and staffers on desktop computers and mobile devices inside the U.S. Capitol complex. Our Campaign Strategists identified that Legislators and Staffers engaged with the campaign at a 6X greater rate when we reached them inside the U.S. Capitol and we were able to win 90% of all available ad impressions to maximize campaign effectiveness.
  • Using Resonate’s advanced analytics, we identified what issues and values drove the highest engagement with the campaign, enabling Resonate to optimize to the audience’s values and issues driving the performance of the online ad campaign.

The House of Representatives passed the reauthorization of the Ex-Im Bank by a vote of 359 to 65 and the Senate voted in favor by a count of 83-16.
