Dateline & Opening Paragraph
Rite-Way Auto Glass recently concluded its “Show Me Your Crack” $1,000 photo contest, a lighthearted Facebook campaign. It invited Kentucky residents to show off their most creative cracked windshield impressions.
The instructions specified that only artistic impressions were allowed, not real damage. It sparked strong engagement across the state, bringing attention to the company’s longstanding connection to locals.
Contest Concept & Engagement Overview
The “Show Me Your Crack” contest blended lighthearted humor with creative expression, while clearly emphasizing that no actual damage to auto glass was encouraged or required. Participants were invited to submit artistic photos and videos offering their most imaginative interpretations of windshield cracks
The giveaway quickly gained traction among local Facebook users, as entrants tagged friends, rallied support, and shared their submissions. The response included a wide range of clever, family-friendly entries, with supporters encouraged to like or love their favorites.
The result was a lively, community-driven online experience that sparked engagement and conversation across the platform.
Contest Rules & Participation Snapshot
Anyone in the US with a valid Facebook account was eligible. To enter, participants were asked to like the contest post, follow Rite-Way Auto Glass on Facebook, and comment with a photo or video of a cracked windshield impression.
Family, friends, and followers could then vote by reacting directly to each entry, making engagement a key part of the competition.
Contestants were also offered a bonus entry opportunity by taking a selfie with a Rite-Way Auto Glass truck or team member at Thursday Night Live on August 21, 2025, in Lexington. Entries posted with the tag @Ritewayglasslex and the hashtag #ShowMeYourCrack received additional voting consideration.
Winner Announcement & Results
After a month of voting and spirited participation, Lacey Hilgert from Louisville emerged as the contest victor, earning the $1,000 cash prize. The mother of two and Green Bay Packers fan impressed voters with a creative, humorous entry that stood out among the competition.
Hilgert’s entry received 168 positive reactions, narrowly edging out runner-up Steph Rosario, who finished with 152 reactions. Every participant tried to raise the most reactions, making it hotly contested and impressively engaging.
Community Response & Sportsmanship
The contest attracted participants from a wide range of backgrounds, generating enthusiasm, friendly rivalry, and plenty of conversation throughout the voting process. As with any highly engaged competition, a small amount of debate emerged, including concerns from some participants about the use of fake profiles.
Those concerns were ultimately resolved, and competitors showed strong sportsmanship by congratulating the winner and recognizing the creativity and humor that defined the winning entry.
