A Georgia sheriff has been in the news this week, and he’s under fire for the purchase of a Dodge Hellcat that was purchased as part of his fleet.
According to the sheriff, the Hellcat will be used in controlled-environment drag races to show crowds the risks of distracted driving and drag racing. Still, the department is being forced to return the funds spent on the Hellcat through the Department of Justice’s equitable sharing program.
Rock Hill Nissan recently unveiled a pre-owned 2017 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat on its showroom floor.
Car enthusiasts everywhere have shown interest in the Hellcats. In 2017, only 2,976 SRT Hellcats were produced. Not only are they a rare delicacy in the sportscar world, but they have an amazing amount of power.
The SRT Hellcat on Rock Hill Nissan’s showroom floor produces 707 horsepower with its supercharged 6.2L 8-cylinder engine. The transmission is a 6-speed manual, which is coveted by high-performance drivers. This particular Hellcat features bells and whistles including a back up camera, beautiful sport interior with leather wrapped steering wheel, and an exterior design that was made to turn heads.
The team at Rock Hill Nissan is excited about their showroom’s Hellcat, which isn’t expected to last long. Rock Hill Nissan’s managing partner, Randolph Scott, is a car enthusiast who owns a custom-built race car. According to Rico Glover, chief digital officer at Rock Hill Nissan, “Mr. Scott personally looked at this vehicle and purchased it for the dealership. He understands for someone this is not just a vehicle but a dream come true.”
