Kyiv, Ukraine (PRUnderground) September 24th, 2019

“The book “A Mathematician Who Turned into an Ant” by Masao Morita was received in 150 cities in the East and South of Ukraine – Mariupol, Konstantinovka, Slavyansk, Izyum, Henichesk, and many others. Books were distributed free of charge by the IT company Lucky Labs charity publishing project LuckyBooks,” says its founder Rustam Gilfanov.

“Each book of our project is sent to children in the East and South of Ukraine. This time, 150 cities received copies of the book about an ant. In just two and a half years, the LuckyBooks project distributed more than 6,000 books,” says Gilfanov.

The book was published in the Chernivtsi publishing house ‘Chorni Vivtsi’. Illustrations for the book were created by the Japanese designer Katsuji Wakisaka. The author of the book is a famous Japanese mathematician, a popularizer of science Masao Morita.

“This is the seventh book of our project. It shows us not only the unusual approaches to mathematics, but also the basics of Japanese philosophy. This allows young readers to learn more about the world of Eastern culture and become interested in science,” said Gilfanov.

This is not the first mathematics-related book of the LuckyBooks project. Last year, they published “#WHATISMATH” by Kuzko Kuziakyn. In total, the project has already published and distributed seven educational books for teenagers in Ukrainian.
