GenIT founder and RefaceAI investor tells about success the Doublicat app gained

In July, Doublicat, an app created by Ukrainian developers aimed to change faces on GIF images. reached the 5 million mark of downloads. This information was reported by the startup investor and GenIT founder Sergey Tokarev.
“Doublicat got to the list of most downloaded apps in Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, and the Philippines. In the American AppStore, the app is ranked 13th in the Entertainment section.”
According to the investor, the app has showed great results since its release in January 2020. In March, it overcame the mark of one million downloads. After that, there was a serious take-off. In early July, Doublicat took first place in the Ukrainian AppStore.
“In mid-July, the number of downloads exceeded 5 million. During the past few days, the application has been downloaded by about 400 thousand users,” Sergey Tokarev cites statistics.
The investor says that the startup team is now improving their own technology and developing their product aimed at recognizing fake photos and videos on the Internet.
