STEM is FEM, a charitable educational initiative from Ukraine, announced a competition for Ukrainian school girls for the participation in the next project module. This time, the module is dedicated to mechanical engineering. Sergey Tokarev, the initiator of the project and GenIT founder, spoke about this event.

“Research shows that there only 13.2% girls among the graduates in the mechanical engineering direction. This industry has always been stereotypically considered “male” all over the world,” says Sergey Tokarev, the STEM is FEM project initiator, investor and IT businessman. – “It is especially important to remember in the Ukrainian realities. After all, mechanical engineering is considered the most important complex branch in the manufacturing industry in Ukraine and it has more than 1000 enterprises.”

According to the STEM is FEM initiator, increasing the number of women in this area could lead to increasing the quantity and quality of the human resources of the whole industry.

According to Tokarev, the STEM is FEM module on mechanical engineering will take place on August 29-30 in the capital of Ukraine Kyiv. Schoolgirls from all over Ukraine can take part in the module. They need to pass the qualifying competition on the official website of the project. The 30 girls who do the best with the competition will be able to come to Kyiv to meet motivational speakers, women who already work in the mechanical engineering industry, as well as visit specialized enterprises.

The educational project STEM is FEM has existed since September 2019. During this time, there were five educational modules on biotechnology, IT, ecology and energy, robotics and engineering, 3D modeling and printing.
