Brasil wants people to know they aren’t alone during the pandemic
Los Angeles, CA (PRUnderground) October 12th, 2020
While many live in isolation due to the pandemic, Addison Brasil, co-founder/VP/brand impact and strategic partnership lead at tethr, wants people to know they aren’t alone.
With projects such as tethr, an online peer-to-peer community connecting men for open conversations about isolation, loneliness, or depression (co-founded by himself, Matt Zerker, Burke White and Denny Park), and his latest film, ‘The Great Artist’ (coming soon), Brasil is using his own experiences with depression to open doors for others.
“I have very strategically approached how I can bring awareness and hope to mental health with my specific skill set,” said Brasil. “Whether it is through the beauty and fiction of ‘The Great Artist’ or the reality of peer support on the tethr app, I want people to know they are not alone when isolated by the pandemic.”
Recently, Brasil was featured at headsUP Guys, where he shared his own battle with depression and his recovery with others as an inspirational story. Brasil says that he tried everything from professional medical help to meditation and more but that peer support programs offered a catalyst for his recovery, and this provided the inspiration for tethr.
According to Brasil, “I intentionally remain a Peer Support Advocate in the mental wellbeing world; this is not about fixing people, it’s about connecting with them by any means necessary and realizing all that is possible when we do.”
The free tethr app can be found in the iOS store, and further information is available at https://www.tethr.men/.
