Somewhere a little different?

When you think about where you want to go for a holiday, unless you have a fixed idea where in the world is the destination for you, you may be spoilt for choice. There are an endless variety of places you could go, some offering adventure, some sunshine, others culture or wildlife. How do you choose?
As you leaf through brochures for countries you know will be a good bet, there will also be places that you have never considered worth visiting that just might surprise you if you were to give them a try. But why would you? That just happens to be one of the great things about eclipse holidays. You go where the eclipse happens, and that can take you to some really unusual and interesting places. For example the 2011 solar total eclipse occurred over the South Pacific and this meant that there were only a few sites that it could be viewed from on a Northern Lights Iceland Holidays.
The clients of Explorers Astronomy Tours successfully saw the eclipse from a purpose built campsite on the rarely visited but pretty atoll called Hao, one of the Tuamotu Islands, 500 miles from Tahiti. In contrast, in 2015 there will be an eclipse over the beautiful but remote icy island Svalbard situated far north of Norway, for which Explorers Astronomy Tours are also running a tour.
Two extremely different locations, both well worth a visit, and the chance of seeing an eclipse is a great reason to go.
