South Florida Cybersecurity Services provider 24By7Security at FBI Infragard Cyber Conference

Sanjay Deo, President of 24By7Security, Inc. a well-known Cybersecurity service provider in South Florida moderated a panel of Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and Chief Security Officers (CSOs) at a Cyber Conference hosted on October 27, 2016, by the Infragard South Florida Member Alliance in celebration of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month.       The South Florida chapter of Infragard, which is a national sharing program between the FBI and the private sector, hosted this event titled Cyber: Protect, Defend, Respond, at the Florida International University in Miami.   Nancy Bianco and Mauricio Angee, Board members of the Alliance were present and inaugurated the meeting.

The event consisted of two panel discussions focused on third party risks and framework of “Prevent, Protect and Respond”.  Both panels engaged in spirited discussions with the panel members sharing their views and how they are dealing with Cyber Threats. Angee talked about the building blocks of third party risk management programs and how the financial industry is far more mature than the healthcare industry. Deo facilitated the panel focused on how to prevent, protect and respond to cyber threats. In light of the recent Dyn DNS DDOS attack, there was discussion around handling of indirect threats resulting in consequences out of a company’s control, such as revenue loss and reduced internet accessibility.

Bianco provided an overview of the Infragard chapter and encouraged the audience to participate in the South Florida Infragard program.  Look out for more events in future.    Such events are vital to promote cyber security awareness and keep security top of the mind for businesses and individuals.
