STChealth and Lowell Elementary Partner To Provide Immunizations To Downtown Phoenix

At the May 19 clinic, the single-dose Johnson & Johnson Janssen COVID-19 vaccine will be administered to those ages 18 and up. The vaccine is free of charge, and signing-up for the clinic beforehand is not required. Consent forms will be available onsite in both English and Spanish. While event organizers are asking those getting the vaccine to bring a valid form of identification and their insurance card with them to the clinic, no uninsured people will be turned away. STChealth and Lowell Elementary School volunteers will be available onsite to help direct traffic and assist individuals getting vaccinated, while staff from Fry’s Pharmacy will administer the vaccine in the school’s MPR/gym. Additional information regarding the COVID-19 vaccine and vaccination process will be available onsite, as well as information about other vaccines offered through Fry’s Pharmacy. 

Unlike other COVID-19 vaccination clinics, not only does Wednesday’s clinic aim to help its community members fight against COVID-19, but it also seeks to help children and parents in the community stay compliant with school immunization requirements for the youth, based on recommendations by the Maricopa County Department of Health.

A strong desire to close gaps in immunization administration led STChealth to jump at the opportunity to partner with Lowell Elementary School and Fry’s Pharmacy for this COVID-19 vaccine clinic event.
