Steven Rindner Invites Runners to Celebrate Nature and Community and to Sign Up for the Griffith Park Trail Event

Industry: Sports

As the Southern California running community prepares for one of the year’s most scenic endurance events, seasoned trail enthusiast Steven Rindner shares his excitement and personal reflections ahead of the Griffith Park Trail Marathon Relay & 8K, set to take place on Sunday, June 8, 2025.

Los Angeles, CA (PRUnderground) June 4th, 2025

Known for his passion for trail and distance running, Steven Rindner sees the event as more than just a race, it’s a celebration of community spirit. In the heart of Griffith Park, this event invites runners of all levels to challenge themselves on one of Los Angeles’s most iconic trail systems.

“The Griffith Park Trail Marathon Relay & 8K is a uniquely energizing experience,” says Rindner. “You’re surrounded by runners who share the same commitment to community and appreciation for nature. It’s the kind of event that fuels both body and soul.”

Building the Physical Foundation for Endurance Sports

Participating in an 8K or marathon, whether solo or as part of a relay, demands more than willpower. It requires a comprehensive approach to physical fitness. Steven Rindner emphasizes that the training involved helps build cardiovascular resilience, muscular endurance, and mental toughness.

“Distance training transforms you from the inside out,” says Steven Rindner. “The mileage, the discipline, the nutrition it all combines to build a strong, capable body. Once you’ve achieved that level of conditioning, your curiosity naturally grows: ‘What else can I do?’”

Many runners who complete their first marathon find themselves inspired to explore other challenging pursuits ultramarathons, mountain biking, gravel racing, triathlons, and even high-altitude trekking. Steven Rindner, an avid participant in gravel biking and trail adventures, notes that this level of fitness opens new doors to explore nature in far-off places with greater confidence.

“When you’ve put in the miles and learned to trust your body, suddenly even the toughest terrain feels like an invitation instead of an obstacle. Marathon fitness is a launchpad into a lifetime of adventure.”

What to Expect on Race Day

Whether you’re running the full relay with a team or tackling the 8K solo, race day at Griffith Park promises a fun and memorable experience. The course winds through beautiful trails with just enough elevation to keep things interesting. Expect early morning energy, excited runners, and the kind of supportive vibe that makes you feel part of something special.

You’ll get a solid tech tee, comfortable and lightweight, along with chip timing to track your performance. Everyone who crosses the finish line goes home with a medal and a special Griffith Park pin, which is a nice touch. And yes, free race photos are included, so there’s no pressure to take a sweaty selfie (unless you want to).

There’ll be aid stations along the course stocked with water and electrolytes, which come in handy. After the run, stick around for some good post-race food, music from a live DJ, and the chance to swap stories with fellow runners. It’s a great way to wind down, refuel, and soak in that post-race high.

Steven Rindner’s Ongoing Advocacy for Active Communities

Having recently participated in the Santa Monica “Goodbye 2024” Half Marathon and shared training strategies for the Big Bear Marathon, Steven Rindner continues to inspire new and experienced runners alike. He advocates for events that not only challenge the body but also uplift the spirit and unite the community.

“Griffith Park is one of the most inspiring places to run,” Rindner adds. “With every mile, you’re reminded why this city and its runners are so special. I invite everyone to lace up, show up, and enjoy this extraordinary experience.”
