Event to benefit Quilts of Valor and THEYGOTYOUR6 Foundation

Quitman, TX (PRUnderground) September 8th, 2022

Stitchin’ Heaven is pleased to announce that they will be hosting an upcoming event, the Veterans Day Quilts of Valor Presentation & THEYGOTYOUR6 Foundation Luncheon. This special Veterans Day event will honor veterans while benefiting Quilts of Valor and THEYGOTYOUR6 Foundation.

The Veterans Day Quilts of Valor Presentation & THEYGOTYOUR6 Foundation Luncheon is an annual event hosted by Stitchin’ Heaven, Quilts of Valor, and THEYGOTYOUR6 Foundation with the overall mission of honoring the nation’s veterans. “Join us at the Quitman Court House as we honor our local veterans and wrap them in the love and warmth of a Quilt of Valor,” said a spokesperson for Stitchin’ Heaven.

Quilts of Valor serves war veterans in East Texas. Their quilt donation program gives veterans a way to heal, wrapped up in a quilt that was made just for them in mind. By partnering with Quilts of Valor and THEYGOTYOUR6 Foundation, Stitchin’ Heaven offers this annual presentation to honor veterans and first responders. Proceeds from the Veterans Day Quilts of Valor Presentation & THEYGOTYOUR6 Luncheon will benefit THEYGOTYOUR6 Foundation, a veteran-owned non-profit offering everyday items and financial assistance for veterans, first responders, and their families.

This year’s guest speakers include Mark, The Quilting Marine; Andrew, The Combat Quilter; and Rob Appell, the Stitchin’ Heaven YouTuber.

The Combat Quilter Andrew Lee is a 20+ year military veteran who chose to quilt as a way to cope with PTSD. Now, he’s an award winning expert quilter whose quilts have reached veterans of nearly every major U.S. military conflict.

The Quilting Marine served in the Marine Corps for 20 years and turned to quilting as a means of therapy for PTSD. Now, he loves giving quilts to bring joy into the lives of others.

Rob Appell began sewing in his mother’s quilt shop as a child, and this foundation later evolved into his own personal style. Now, he helps others learn to quilt through his YouTube channel ‘Sew Well with Rob Appell’ on the Stitchin’ Heaven YouTube Channel.

They will share how quilting became such an integral part of their life and a channel for their struggles.

The event will be held on November 11, 2022, at 11:11, at the Wood County Courthouse in Quitman, Texas. A luncheon will be held afterwards, from 12:30pm-3:00pm. Veterans and first responders will be able to attend for free, while tickets for adults ($20) and children ($10) will be available. Registration for the luncheon is required.
