Taiwan’s Aerospace Industry Expands Partnership With European Aircraft Makers (Source: Agenda 21st century Taiwan)

Exhibiting as the Taiwan Aerospace Association, which consists of the National Chun-Shan Institution of Science and Technology (NCSIST) and Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation (ADIC) among other Taiwanese businesses, the achievements of Taiwan’s aviation industry, including some cutting-edge technologies, have been shown in the 2019 Paris Air Show, which took place from 17th to 23rd, June.

During the show, NCSIST introduced 14 weapon systems, such missiles, to demonstrate the capabilities of its various high-tech products. AIDC exhibited newly developed aircraft engines and high performance fiberglass materials.

At the same time, Taiwan’s US$210 million next-generation satellite constellation, FormoSat-7, lifted off from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida on 25th June. This program is the self-reliant space program in Taiwan and is serving as a launching platform to domestically build important spacecraft components. Under the guidance of NARL, NSPO has integrated high technology industries, research institutes and companies into a competent team to execute the program. Key team players include the National Chip Implementation Center (CIC), AIDC, and CSIST.

Members of the Taiwan Aerospace Industrial Association and the Taiwan Aerospace Industrial Association and the French Aerospace Association GIFAS convened on the 20th to exchange information about the products of each party. Representatives of French Aerospace companies including AeroTech, Aquarese, NYCO, Thales, Trescal among other companies also actively interacted with Taiwanese exhibitors. GIFAS has announced that it is to organize a delegation of the French aerospace industry to visit Taiwan in October to carry out further exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.
